Abstract Australian Artist
Australian artist this month is John Olsen who has been one of he biggest inspirations for my art journey.
"To be an Australian artist is to be an adventurer"
He is said to be Australia’s greatest living painter. John Olsen keeps an open eyed innocence of a child.
A tribute to John Olsen
One of my favourite works here "Where the bee sucks, there suck I" that he borrowed from Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'. It reflects on the country life in Clarendon, South Australia linking the land, light, people and attitudes of Australians.
A big attraction for me is John's use of strong colours that creates a joyful sense of place while his curvilinear style makes us feel so alive. This flowing energy is essential to maintain my belief that "art is the process"
My 'Dragon' Encaustic Wax painting is a typical example of John's influence. NOW available as Giclee Canvas prints ready to hang & FREE shipping Australia
