Sometimes I find my family of people while painting or printing. This can be described as 'BIOMORPHIC' meaning 'life & transformation'. These forms can be described as organic and abstract shapes derived from biology or living organisms.
An all time favourite Australian artist of mine is Andrew Sibley. This work of his is an example of how he uses discoveries on the surface during his printing process to develop into his painting compositions by eliminating what is not needed to reveal his subjects.
'Salt of the Earth' is an early Encaustic-Wax painting of mine.
It reveals an unplanned weathered figure as part of the landscape. It went through a process of many layers, changes and many hours of work before i decided it reached the final outcome i was happy with.
My next post will show you more examples to hopefully inspire you to
